Editorial policy
Our guides explain how firms in the trading industry market themselves within the rules. This page sets out how we source them, check them and keep them current.
Primary sources first
Every statement about a law, a regulator's rules or an advertising platform's policy is checked against the primary source: the regulator, the legislation or the platform's own policy page. We use a secondary source only when the point is not published anywhere else. Each guide ends with a Sources list showing the documents it relies on and the date each one was last checked.
How claims are kept current
Rules and policies change, so every source carries a recheck interval based on how quickly it dates:
- Costs, prices, competition dates and other fast-moving figures: every 30 days.
- Laws, regulator rules and guidance, and ad-platform policies: every 90 days.
- Definitions, standards and history: every year.
- Known dated events, such as a consultation closing or a new regime starting: on that date.
When a recheck finds a change, we update the guide and the source's checked date. A guide's "Updated" date shows when its content was last reviewed.
What our guides are not
The guides are general information. They are not legal, regulatory, tax or financial advice, and they do not replace advice from a qualified professional on your own situation. Rules differ by country and product, so check the current position before you act. We do not name or rank competitors in our guides.
Corrections
If you think something in a guide is wrong or out of date, write to hello@mementoenterprises.com with the page and the source that shows the correct position. We review every correction request and update the guide where the source supports it.
